Multi-site Webflow: a custom website for each LNE publishing house

Les Nouveaux Éditeurs (LNE) brings together independent publishing houses with very different worlds: literature, essays, comics, children’s books, general knowledge and popular fiction. Each one has its own voice, its own authors and its own readers.

To manage this group of websites, LNE relies on two partners: the agency We Think Elastic, which creates the identity and design of each publishing house, and Scroll, a Webflow agency, which builds the websites. The result: a multi-site ecosystem where each publishing house has a unique website, and where every editorial team publishes on its own.

Developers needed to publish a book

Teams add a book, an author or a news item on their own from the Webflow CMS.

One family of publishers, very different worlds

The group brings together publishing houses with varied editorial lines: Les Intranquilles, Les Aurores, Point Nemo, Morgen, Les Corps Conducteurs, Les Léonides, La Doux, Maison Pop and La Tribu.

From comics to children’s books, from essays to popular fiction, each one speaks to its own audience. But they all share the same needs: presenting their catalogue, their authors, their new releases and their events.

The challenge: managing several websites without multiplying the effort

A picture book for toddlers, a fantasy comic and a history essay are not presented in the same way. Each publishing house therefore needed a website that was truly its own.

But for a publishing group, multiplying websites can quickly become a headache: different tools, complicated updates and costs that add up. The goal was twofold: a distinct identity for each publishing house, and simple multi-site management, where each team can publish a book or an event in a few minutes, without a developer.

We Think Elastic: strong identities for each publishing house

The design of every publishing house is signed by We Think Elastic. The agency created a strong visual identity for each one, with a reading experience designed for its audience.

Collections with strong personalities at Maison Pop, navigation by age group at La Doux, large-format book covers at La Tribu: ambitious designs that require development to match.

Scroll: pixel-perfect Webflow development

Scroll builds the websites on Webflow, working directly with the We Think Elastic teams to match every design pixel for pixel, on desktop and mobile.

We structured a CMS designed for publishing: books, authors, collections, news and events. When a publisher adds a book, it automatically appears in the new releases, on its author’s page and in its collection.

Each website also includes the publishing house’s newsletter and social media. Morgen also has an English version, a book signing calendar and its own podcast.

A partnership that grows with the group

The group keeps growing, and the LNE, We Think Elastic and Scroll trio supports each new publishing house. The latest to join are Les Intranquilles, a literary publisher championing distinctive voices in fiction and non-fiction, and Les Aurores, dedicated to essays and history books that shed light on current events.

For each one, the same principle applies: a custom design by We Think Elastic, pixel-perfect Webflow development, and a CMS the team can use straight away. Today, readers, booksellers and journalists easily find every book and every author on each of the group’s websites.
